What if a customer complains that the quality of the coffee is inconsistent with their first purchase?

When customers complain that the coffee flavor is inconsistent with their first purchase, and we investigate from a packaging perspective, the core issue is typically failed protective function of the packaging, leading to oxidation, moisture ingress, or aroma

Primary packaging-related causes:

  1. Insufficient or degraded barrier performance – Poor material quality, lack of an aluminum foil layer, leaking one-way valves, or defective seals allow slow oxygen permeation, resulting in rancid/rancid-oil notes and increased sourness or astringency.

2.Micro-damage during transit – Poor puncture resistance or flex-crack resistance creates pinholes or micro-cracks in seals. Even without visible
leakage, these defects permit continuous oxygen ingress over time.

3.Valve malfunction – Clogged or improperly sealed one-way valves cause abnormal bag pressure (over-inflated or collapsed/flat), impairing aroma retention.

4.Inappropriate packaging size or vacuum level – Oversized bags or insufficient vacuuming leave excessive residual oxygen in the headspace, while beans/grounds rubbing against each other during handling accelerates oxidative degradation.
